In March 2014, Dr Reaiche-Miller was appointed Manager of the Adelaide Biobank, a purpose-built biorepository that provides secure, long-term storage of biological and environmental research materials. Now as Senior Manager, she oversees facility operations, infrastructure planning, biospecimen management, governance, compliance and research support activities, with a focus on the security, integrity and traceability of stored collections.

A major component of her role involves identifying and mitigating risks associated with storing irreplaceable research materials. Working closely with the Colleges, Risk, Insurance, Estates and Facilities, and other university stakeholders, she has contributed to strengthening risk management frameworks, emergency response arrangements and business continuity plans for cold-storage infrastructure. Her experience includes developing strategies for controlled environment device failures, alarm and monitoring systems, and contingency plans to protect valuable research collections.

Dr Reaiche-Miller played a key role in the development and implementation of university-wide policies and procedures for controlled environment devices and cold-storage facilities. Working with research and operational stakeholders, she was instrumental in developing the Adelaide University Controlled Environment Devices and Storage Policy and associated procedures, establishing a consistent framework for managing risks associated with ultra-cold freezers, cryogenic facilities and other controlled environment devices. She also played a key role in the planning, design and development of three of the four Adelaide Biobank facilities, providing specialist expertise in infrastructure, operational workflows, storage capacity, biospecimen management and risk mitigation to ensure facilities are fit for purpose, efficient and responsive to long-term research needs.

Dr Reaiche-Miller is the current Chair of the South Australian Biobanking Technical Reference Group, an active member of the International Society for Biological and Environmental Repositories (ISBER) and has served as Vice President and President of the Australasian Biospecimen Network Association (ABNA). Through these roles, she has contributed to the advancement of biobanking through professional leadership, collaboration and the promotion of best practice in biobanking standards, governance and infrastructure.
